Cap and Gown Ordering

Achievers is your provider of caps and gowns for graduation. Cost is $27 per cap and gown and can be purchased at Select “Graduation Products”, choose our school and use the password “cohs916”. You can choose a package with announcements and a ring, or continue shopping and select the cap and gown unit. Prices for caps and gowns go up on February 1 to $43. You may opt to add shipping to the price if you would like the cap and gown for your senior portrait session. (Please note: pictures of students in caps and gowns will NOT be used in the yearbook this year as not everyone will have the chance to have their caps and gowns in time for their session.)

You may also get loaner gowns for the ceremony at the same location. Loaner gowns must be turned in before leaving the graduation venue and you do not get to keep your cap and tassel if you borrow a gown. The deadline for loaner gowns is January 31. After that you will need to purchase a gown.

All caps and gowns will be delivered in March/April at the school site, unless the shipping option is selected.

Senior Portraits

Prestige Portraits has created a video that explains the changes they have made to their program and how Senior Portraits are being scheduled and done this year.

If you did not receive an appointment post card in the mail already, please call them at their new number 916-535-7799.

Senior Portrait FAQs
Do I have to take a senior portrait?
To have a picture in the yearbook, seniors MUST set up an appointment with Lifetouch/Prestige and take their picture at their studio. Senior year will look different this year, but one way we can hold onto traditions is by setting aside time to take a special portrait that only seniors get to take.

IMPORTANT: If a senior chooses to not have their portrait taken at Prestige, they will NOT be pictured in the yearbook.
Where do I go?
3159 Dwight Road Suite 300 in Elk Grove.
Who goes to the appointment?
Senior students and one "helper." While the helper is not mandatory, he or she is the only person who will be able to, say, fix the senior's hair, or straighten their collar, or help them to position their shoulders, etc., as the photographers will be socially distancing themselves from students in the interest of everyone's safety.
What should I wear?
At this time, given concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus, Lifetouch is not providing the typical attire we're accustomed to seeing for senior portraits (what they call "tux and drape"). Instead, seniors will wear semi-formal attire. While it might be disappointing to not have the go-to look of senior portraits, a glass-half-full view of this change would be that students can better express who they are by choosing their own outfits.
Here are some do's and don'ts:
Do's: we still want for senior portraits to feel special, and to stand out from the underclassmen photos, so dress as if you were going to a nice dinner or a fancy event. Dress as your best you. That means a collared shirt (tie optional) or a blouse or dress. Ideally, your top would be solid (as opposed to patterned, but this is not a requirement).*
Don'ts: hats, graphic T-shirts, strapless tops or spaghetti straps (especially important in a picture that is shoulders on up)
*If you buy a package, you can choose what you'd like to wear in the non-yearbook photos you purchase. The above guidelines are for the picture that will appear in the yearbook.
What should I bring?
Bring what will help you look and feel your best (i.e. a comb, make-up, a lint roller, etc.).
Because of cross-contamination concerns, if you'd like to bring a prop like a basketball or an instrument, this year Lifetouch encourages students to bring their own.
Depending on the package you choose, you may bring outfit changes (see cost info below for packages).
How much does it COST?
There is no cost for just a yearbook senior portrait. The trade-off is that the photographer will only take two photos and the lab tech will choose the photo for you. This option isn't listed prominently on the website, but is available.

The remaining package options -- where you can opt for outfit changes, and choose your own photo from proofs can be found here:

Other Senior Events

It is unknown what events we will be able to hold this year due to the constantly changing conditions. These events include senior ball, spring theme park trip, and, of course, graduation. As we move forward, we will keep you updated when we know more information if we can hold these events. We are still hoping to have them, but are unable to move forward until we get direction from state and local officials as to what is safe to do.
