HAVE YOU KEPT YOUR SCHOOL ATTENDANCE UP? If so, you are eligible to win a new car if you get five total months of perfect attendance and maintain a 2.0 GPA.

For the 11th year in a row, the member-dealers of the Elk Grove Auto Mall (EGAM) have agreed to donate up to $20,000 to a student with perfect attendance for at least five months to be used towards the purchase of a vehicle from any one of the auto mall dealerships.

This year’s drawing will take place at the 60th Annual Elk GroveWesternFestivalat 2:00 pm in the Elk Grove Regional Park.

Thanks to the generosity of the Elk Grove Auto Mall, EGUSD graduating high school seniors have a special opportunity to be rewarded for consistent attendance habits.

Parent/Guest Seating:

Parents will be admitted into the arena approximately one hour before the start of the ceremony at the Grand Entrance (this is also the location you will meet your student after the ceremony). Make sure you arrive early, as the Golden 1 Center mandates that all attendees walk through metal detectors. There are no exceptions to this rule and it is at the directive of the Golden 1 Center.

You cannot bring in Confetti, Noise Makers, Balloons, Food, Alcohol, etc. These are Golden 1 Center rules and they can remove you for violated them.

Guests who need access to handicap seating or have special needs may enter with the rest of their family and Golden 1 Center ushers will assist you in finding suitable seating.

The following dress code is expected for all students:

Men: Dress shirt, dress shoes, slacks. A tie is recommended.
Women: Dress or dress slacks and blouse, dress shoes.

Students who do not comply with the dress and shoe requirements will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. If there is a hardship in regard to the dress code for the graduation ceremony, the deadline to let Mrs. Osborne know was on May 18.

Shorts, jeans, flip-flops, and athletic shoes ARE NOT ALLOWED.

Caps and Gowns cannot be decorated or added to. This means no bedazzling, painting, drawing, etc., on your cap/gowns. You may wear honor cords/stoles/school honor medals given at a district event (Senior Awards Night) or an ALREADY APPROVED Item of Personal Expression that was submitted to your Vice Principal by the due date. The district will have you remove any items not conforming to the dress code.

A FINAL reminder students should not bring: Confetti, Poppers, Balloons, Drugs, Alcohol, Purses, Yearbooks, Chewing Gum, Flowers/Leis, Money Necklaces, Ball Caps, etc. If you have any of these items that have not been previously approved when walking in the door, they will be confiscated and not returned. There are no exceptions no matter what the confiscated item is. Make sure that you turn cell phones off – no texting or looking at your phone during the ceremony. Don’t bring your purses with you…there aren’t any places to store them in the arena.
